Indenture of Fine and Counterpart levied in Hilary Term 1668, between Thomas Mayhew, gentleman, plaintiff and Stephen Hales knight, Elizabeth his wife and Thomas Hardres, esquire, deforciants, made in the Court of Common Pleas at Westminster in the octave (i.e. the week following) of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary [2nd February] before Orlando Bridgeman, Thomas Tissell, Samuel Bourne and John Archer Justices of 4 messuages, 2 cottages, 6 gardens, 200 acres of land, 100 acres of meadow and 200 acres of pasture with appurtenances in Snitfield alias Snitterfield, Bearley, Comins, Luscombe, Fulbrooke and Lease Heath, and for this concord Thomas Mayhew hath given to the deforciants £440 sterling.
