Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Description

Indenture dated 20th October 1668 between Anne Bird, widow of Theophilus Bird late of the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields, Middlesex, gentleman deceased of the 1st part, Francis Luttrell of Gray's Inn, Middlesex, esquire and George Nayle of Gray's Inn aforesaid, gentleman of the 2nd part, Dame Elizabeth Hales, widow and sole Executrix of the last Will of Sir Stephen Hales late of Snitterfield Knight of the Honourable Order of the Bath, deceased of the 3rd part, and the Honourable Thomas Coventry of North Mymmes, Hertfordshire, esquire of the 4th part. Reciting the Mortgage described in DR38/37 and that Sir Stephen Hales had devised to Dame Elizabeth all his real property, it was witnessed that in consideration of £1000 to Anne Bird paid by Thomas Coventry at the direction of Dame Elizabeth Hales she the said Anne Bird assigned to Francis Luttrell and George Nayle the term of 500 years in the property described in DR38/37 in trust to attend the inheritance of Thomas Coventry.
