Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Description

Indenture between Philip Leigh of Testwood, Southampton, esquire of one part and Thomas Wyse of Warwick, gentleman of the other part. Reciting that Philip Leigh was seised or in fee tail of an annuity or rent charge of £10 issuing out of the Manor of Snitterfield which annuity was then long since granted by Sir William Beauchamp, knight by the name of Mr. William Beauchamp, brother to the Earl of Warwick by deed dated 15th May 138,1 to Sir Thomas West, knight by the name of Mr. Thomas West and his heirs upon an exchange. It was witnessed that Philip Leigh in consideration of 10/- to him paid by Thomas Wyse and other good causes etc. granted to Thomas Wyse the said annuity for 6 months from the 25th December 1654.
