Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release between George James Williams of Albermarle Street in the Parish of St. James Westminster, Middlesex esquire, Robert Palmer of Chancery Lane in the Parish of St. Andrew Holborn, Middlesex gentleman and Francis Plumptre of the Middle Temple, London, gentleman of the 1st part, the Right Honourable George William, Earl of Coventry and the Honourable George [William] Coventry, esquire commonly called Lord Viscount Deerhurst, only son and heir apparent of the said George William, Earl of Coventry of the 2nd part and Samuel Palmer of the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, gentleman of the 3rd part. Reciting the Will of Henry Coventry of Twickenham (see DR38/71) and the Act of 1757 (see DR38/72) for vesting the settled estate of George William, Earl of Coventry in Cambridgeshire in Trustees in trust to sell the same and to lay out purchase money in purchase of an estate in the Counties of Worcester, Gloucester and Warwick to be settled to uses therein specified, and reciting that the said estate had been disposed by George James Williams, Robert Palmer and Francis Plumptre for £17,000 laid out in purchase of £19,941-7-0 3% Bank Consolidated Annuituies in their own names and reciting that the said George James Williams, Robert Palmer and Francis Plumptre had purchased the estate at Snitterfield (see DR38/80). It was thereby witnessed that in pursuance of the trusts reposed in them by the said Act and in consideration of 10/- apiece paid to them by the said George William, Earl of Coventry they the said George James Williams, Robert Palmer and Francis Plumptre conveyed all the Manor of Snitterfield and Bearley with appurtenances including all Court Leets etc. and all other hereditaments in Snitterfield and Bearley formerly belonging to the said Earl and conveyed to Thomas Coventry by the said Earl by Indenture dated 25th February 1764, to Samuel Palmer to the use of the said George William, Earl of Coventry for life remainder to the use of George Coventry only son of the said Earl, and his heirs male remainder to the use of the first and other sons successively in tail male of the said George Coventry. Remainder to the use of John Bulkley Coventry for life remainder to the use of his first and other sons successively in tail male. Remainder to the use of Thomas Coventry for life and remainder to the use of the first and other sons of Thomas Coventry successively in tail male. Remainder to the use of Thomas Bury named in the Will of Henry Coventry and his heirs for ever, provided he and his heirs took the name of Coventry, remainder to the right heirs of George William, Earl of Coventry as heir at law of Henry Coventry. Lease for one year dated 9th March 1764 by George James Williams, Robert Palmer and Francis Plumptre to Samuel Palmer of the same property. Seal of Fras. Plumptre a lion sejant. Signed by George James Williams, Robert Palmer and Francis Plumptre. Witnesses as before. Two Counterparts.
