Indentures of Lease and Release by way of Mortgage, the Release dated the 20th March between Robert Philips of the Park, Prestwich, Lancashire, esquire of the one part and Edward Jarman late of Upper Berkeley Street but now of Piccadilly, Middlesex, esquire of the other part whereby Robert Philips pursuant to and by virtue of a power limited to him by an Indenture dated 10th May 1816 appointed and released to the said Edward Jarman and his heirs, subject to a proviso for redemption, all the hereditaments described therein by reference to a map in DR38/152 in consideration of £30,000. Signed: Robert Philips. Seal of red wax, dexter forearm holding a sword. Witnesses; Joseph Hinchcliffe and Robert Aspden, Bookkeepers to Philips, Wood Counterpart., Manchester. Lease for one year of the same property by Robert Philips to Edward Jarman. Letter from Edw. Oates of Furnivals Inn dated 23rd March 1826 to Jas. Markland, esquire stating that there is no Judgement existing against Mr. Philips or debts due to the Crown, which can affect the Estates at Snitterfield mortgaged to Mr. Jarman. Bond by Robert Philips to Edward Jarman for £30,000 to observe covenants of the Mortgage above.
