Description
Indenture dated 15th January 1736 between John Palmer of the Middle temple, London esquire and Francis Smith of Warwick, gentleman whereby a capital messuage called the Wold (otherwise the Old) etc., fields called the Ruffe, Broadfields, Broom Close, Galloway Field, Far Wawfield, Stock Leasow, Home Meadow, Dawkins, the Ridgeways (4 closes), Oaty Pens or Veal's Close (2 closes), Little Wawfields, Hither Wawfields, Parnells Meadow, The Leys, Green Pens Meadow, Great Joan's Pit Close, Rick Close, Far Plain, Hither Plain, Pheasant Oak Plain, Cockshoot, several parcels of woodland, and a messuage, a cottage with four lands, leys or ridges in the Common Fields all in the Parish of Snitterfield containing about 309 acres were mortgaged (by necessity of a term of 1000 years) by John Palmer to Francis Smith for £1200. Endorsed with Receipt dated 2nd May 1738 and 10th January 1739 for one year's interest £48 due 15th January 1737, and 2 years interest £96 due 15th January 1739 respectively. 'Mallory's Farm'.
