Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 21st March 1795 between Charles Cooks of Rowington, carpenter Elizabeth his wife, and John Hawkes of Rowington, cordwainer Mary his wife (which said Elizabeth and Mary were the two daughters and co-heiresses at law of Thomas Sneath then late of Rowington, cordwainer, who died intestate and who was Devisee in remainder in fee named in the Will of John Sneath (see DR38/215) late of Snitterfield, shoemaker, deceased, brother of Thomas Sneath) of the 1st part, John Marshall, cordwainer Richard Smith, gentleman (Trustee for John Marshall) both of Snitterfield of the 2nd part and Thomas Buffery of Rowington, gentleman of the 3rd part, whereby a cottage, barns, buildings, garden, orchard etc. in Snitterfield formerly belonging to and in the occupation of John Sneath but then of John Marshall, which cottage was then formerly two cottages (see DR38/213-214) was conveyed by the persons of the 1st part to John Marshall. Covenant by the persons of the 1st part to levy a fine by Thomas Buffery (in order to bar dower etc.). Signed: Charles Cooks, Elizabeth Cooks, John Hawkes, Mary Hawkes and Thomas Buffery. Seal, a man's head. Witnesses: William Tibbits and Thomas Tidmas. Lease dated 20th March 1795 between the same persons of the 1st 2nd parts above being a Lease for one year of the same property. Signed as before (with the exception of Thomas Buffery). Sealed and witnessed as before.
