Counterpart Indenture dated 3rd February 1885 between Robert Needham Philips of Welcombe, esquire, M.P. and the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of the Borough of Stratford-upon-Avon, whereby Robert Needham Philips conveyed to the Corporation of Stratford-upon-Avon certain pieces of land in the Parish of Snitterfield containing 2 roods and 1 rood, 26 perches respectively, more particularly described therein with a map for £300, also the said Robert Needham Philips covenanted to produce certain Title Deeds. Signed: Robert Needham Philips. Sealed with a common wax stamp of red and the seal of the Corporation of Stratford-upon-Avon. Witnesses: John Calloway, agent, Snitterfield and Thomas Hunt, Town Clerk.
