Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Description

Copy of the Will of John Walker of Snitterfield, yeoman whereby he devised to his sister, Mary Townsend an annuity of £10 for her life for her separate estate and free from all debts etc. charged upon his real estate in Snitterfield with power of distress and he also devised to his nephew, Adam Gibbs £3 per annum for his life, his nieces, Mary and Ann Walker £3 per annum for each of their lives to be charged upon his real estate. The residue of his real and personal estate after payment of debts etc. he devised and bequeathed to Henry Smith of Snitterfield, gentleman and to Thomas Smith the younger of Rowington to be disposed of at their directions, the surplus to be distributed amongst the children of the said Mary Townsend equally and he appointed Henry Smith and Thomas Smith his Executors. Signed in the presence of Thomas Walford, Thomas Baylis and Thomas Adkins (by his mark). Attested 5th November 1771 by W. Wilson and John Holmes.
