A collection of half-plate glass negatives relating to views of Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, and Worcestershire. Some printed postcards are also included.

Please note: These negatives are closed for conservation reasons. Modern prints may be merged into the topographical and event files located in the Reading Room. Please enquire.

Custodial History

These negatives were found at 12 Bridge Street in 1975. The address and telephone number are stuck on the back of one of the negatives ( no. 44).

Admin History

The Mercia Photo Co., postcard publishers, was run by Frank C. Ricketts, from 54a and 55 Ely Street, from February 1908. In the spring of 1910 he moved to 3 John Street where he carried on the business until about 1916. His photographs were developed by a chemist at 12 Bridge Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.
