Description

Gift with warranty from Thomas de Vaal to John son of the said Thomas and Eva, daughter of Roger Body of Henleye, of 3 shillings and 8 pence annual rent with lordship, reliefs, escheats and heriots to be taken from Henry de Sydenhale annually [ 2 terms] that is to say from land called Warnereslond formerly held by Henry Warner; to hold the said rent and appurtenances to the said John and Eva for ever. Dated at Toneworth, Wednesday after the feast of St Matthew the Apostle, 20 Edward III. Witnesses: Sir John atte Berne, Chaplain, Richard his brother, Thomas Wystan, Thomas Willyes, Richard de Yeleschawe and others. Black wax circular seal with a ? shield, 3 chevronels, gules, surmounted by the letters /R.B. within an indented border. Latin, parchment, 11.5 x 3.75 ins.
