Description

Gift with warranty from Robert de Folewode, vicar of Toneworth' to Henry de Middlemor', Robert de Crowenhale, Master Adam de Alreshawe, Thomas de Folewode, John de Ruyfeld, chaplain, of all lands and tenements in Toneworth' and Solihull' which the grantor received by the gift and feoffment of Simon, son of Robert de Folewode and which formerly belonged to Richard de Wydenhay of Solihull'; also a piece of meadow land and wood growing on the same in Toneworth' lying between land formerly belonging to Simon de la Heth on the one hand and that of John Water on the other; also a piece of arable land in Toneworth' lying in length from le Wodelond' as far as the road leading from the house of John Austyn as far as the wood of the Earl of Warr' and in breadth between the said road on the one hand and the land of John Austyn on the other; to hold the same from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Dated at Toneworth', Wednesday after the feast of the Translation of St Thomas the Martyr, 23 Edward III. Witnesses: John de Lodbrok' knt, John Larch', William de Folewode, William Gower and others. Oval seal of natural wax on tag, 1 x 3/4 in., seated figure holding a staff in his left hand with right hand outstretched towards a standing figure. Endorsed: [ 15th cent] Folwode.
