Description

Gift in fee tail with warranty from John Fullwod' of Toneworth' to John his son and Matilda his wife of a messuage with a curtilage and all lands, tenements, meadows, pastures, feedings in Toneworth' which John Henschawe lately held of the grantor in Toneworth' next to le Erleswode, which property formerly belonged to Robert de Fullewod'; to hold to the said John and Matilda and their lawful issue for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service, or in default of such issue to pass after the death of the said John and Matilda to Robert, brother of the said John, and his lawful issue, or in default of such issue to revert to the grantor and his heirs for ever. Dated at Toneworth', Thursday before the feast of St Wolstan the Bishop, 8 Henry V. Witnesses: Thomas Archer, Thomas Sydenhale, Thomas Waryng', Richard Cowerne, Richard Dolfyn and others. Circular seal of red wax on tag, 1/2 in., on a shield, on a bend three buckles between six crosses, the shield within a decorated border. Legend: S' IOHANNIS DE Endorsed: [early 16th cent] Carta tall' Johannis de Fulwod' Matildae uxoris eius de terries tenementis que Johannes Henshau quondam tenuit in Toneworth'.
