Description

Lease for the life of lessee from Thomas Archer to Tonneworth' to John Trappe of Aston Cantelowe of a croft called Douncrofte in Tonneworth'; to hold for the term of his life rendering annauly to the said Thomas one red rose on the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist if demanded; the said John was forbidden to fell, cut or carry away any trees growing on the said croft except for fencing the said croft if the said John held the said croft for more than 9 years from the feast of The Purification of the Blessed Mary. Dated at Tonneworth' on the feast of St Valentine the Martyr, 14 Henry IV. Witnesses: John Fulwode, Thomas Sudenhale, John Radenore and other.
