Description

Agreement between Robert de Sidenhale of Toneworth' and William de Folewode and Joan his wife: whereas the said Robert granted to the said William and Joan an annual rent of 40 shillings from all his lands in Toneworth' according to a charter made between them, the said William now agrees that if half of the said lands are inherited by the said Joan upon the death of the said Robert, then the said charter shall be void; but should the lands not be inherited by the said Joan because the said Robert shall have male heirs, then these heirs will choose either to continue to pay the said rent to the said William, or to pay £20 within three years after the death of the said Robert, whereupon the said charter will become void; and the said Robert during his lifetime will maintain the said Joan and her children.
