Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Description

Probate of the Will of William Nicholls of Snitterfield, yeoman whereby he devised the property described in DR38/237-238 to Henry Smith of Snitterfield, gentleman and Edward Baker of Milverton, yeoman upon trust to sell the property (subject to the payment of the annuity of £24 during the life of Thomas Nicholls) in trust to pay thereout £100 to his dear wife Ann upon his decease and thereafter to hold the residue of the proceeds of his real and personal estate upon trust for the maintenance of his children until the last attain the age of 21 years and thereafter to be equally divided between them (subject to certain other trusts and provisos). Witnesses: Edward Bromley, William Tomes both of Snitterfield and William Owen. Proved 22nd July 1776 before the Reverend Richard Green D.D. Surrogate of the Consistory Court of Worcester. Signed Richard Clarke, Deputy Registrar. Extracted by Thomas Holyoak, Proctor. Seal pressed paper seal bearing impression of Worcester Cathedral.
