Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Description

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 9th November 1776 between Francis Richardson of Warwick, blacksmith of one part and Henry Smith of Snitterfield, gentleman of the other part whereby the property described in DR38/239 then described as a messuage, barn and malthouse, cuttleing mill, stables and blacksmith's shop standing behind the said house with orchard etc. late in the occupation of Thomas Nicholls and then of Ann Nicholls, widow of William Nicholls, also messuages in the occupations of James Wood, William Bradshaw, Joseph Turner, Thomas Goddard and William White, were conveyed by Francis Richardson to Henry Smith for £290 subject to the payment of an annuity of £24 to Thomas Nicholls for life. Signed: Francis Richardson. Seal obliterated. Witnesses: Richard Dyott and John Woodcock. Lease dated 8th November 1776 by Francis Richardson to Henry Smith of the same property for one year. Signed, sealed and witnessed as before.
