Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 2nd October 1787 between Bernard Gery, apothecary and Thomas Hawkes, tallow chandler both of Warwick of the 1st part, John Gregory of Hornsey Lane in the Parish of Highgate, Middlesex, gentleman and Elizabeth, his wife (described as daughter and devisee of William Denston) of the 2nd part, Henry Jackson and Abraham Beer (Executors of the Will of William Clarke then deceased) of the 3rd part and Thomas Fowler of Solihull, butcher of the 4th part whereby the persons of the 1st 2nd parts conveyed to the parties of the 3rd part their equity of redemption upon premises described in DR38/325 in consideration of the release of the principal debt owed to the Executors of William Clarke of £950 upon trust to sell and convert the same in anticipation of the debt and to pay surplus to the persons of the 2nd part. Signed: Benjamin Gery, Thomas Hawkes, John Gregory and Elizabeth Gregory. Seals: monogram and Grecian head. Witnesses: Henry J. Barker, Robert Dent, George Goode all of Gray's Inn, Jemima L. [H]umfrey, Sarah Hawkes and Price Richard. Lease dated 1st October 1787 by John and Elizabeth Gery to the Executors of William Clarke of the same property for one year. Signed, sealed and attested as before.
