Attested copy of Indenture of Release dated 8th September 1798 (being the Marriage Settlement of the Reverend Elias Webb and Miss Ann Watkins) between the Reverend Elias Webb of Snitterfield of the 1st part, Margaret Webb of Sherbourne widow of Thomas Webb deceased of the 2nd part, Ann Watkins of Daventry, Northamptonshire spinster of the 3rd part, Thomas Webb Edge of Strelley, Nottinghamshire esquire and Charles Watkins of Daventry gentleman of the 4th part and Clarke Watkins of Daventry gentleman and Kelynge Greenway of Warwick gentleman of the 5th part whereby the Reverend Elias Webb and Margaret Webb conveyed to the persons of the 5th part certain messuages, lands etc. in the Parishes of Sherbourne, Lapworth, Old Stratford, Saint Nicholas and Saint Mary Warwick, Kenilworth, Wilmcote, Claredon otherwise Claverdon and Rowington more particularly described therein. As to the messuage at Sherbourne in trust for him the Reverend Elias Webb for life, remainder to his intended wife Ann Watkins for life, remainder upon trusts hereinafter expressed as to residue of the estate. As to the residue upon trust for Elias Webb for life and that Ann Watkins if she survived him might receive thereout for her life an annuity charged upon the aforesaid lands etc., except at Sherbourne, of £400 for her jointure and in bar of dower with a term of 1000 years for securing the same, and a further term of 2000 years charged upon the whole estate as security for £5000 to provide portions for the younger children of the marriage and upon further trust for the first and other sons, in default to the daughters of the marriage in fee tail, and in default of issue to the said Elias Webb and his heirs for ever with proviso giving power to revoke uses of lands to the said Elias Webb and Ann Watkins by a deed or writing with the consent of the Trustees during their joint lives and the life of the survivor, so as they conveyed other lands of equal value to the Trustees. Signed Elias Webb, Margaret Webb, Ann Watkins, Thomas Webb Edge, Charles Watkins and Kelynge Greenway. Sealed in the presence of Samuel Reed William Plackett both of Daventry, Thomas Greenway junior of Warwick gentleman, William Canning John Canning both of Sherbourne, Jo. Loveday William Ball clerks to Mr. Greenway of Warwick. Attested 23rd August 1820 by Edward Dancer and William Westley Dell of Furnival's Inn Holborn.
