Description

Indenture dated 27th March 1875 between William Smith of Snitterfield farmer of one part and Robert Needham Philips of Welcombe esquire whereby three cottages, gardens etc. (see DR 38/709) formerly in the occupations of John Talliss, Hannah Gardner and May Hitchcox and then of Thomas Hope, Henry Talliss and one being void, which cottages were purchased by William Smith of Henry Lurking (see DR 38/711), also two cottages described in DR 38/724, formerly in the occupations of Charles Thornett senior and Agnes Newland, then of George Cox and one being void, which cottages were purchased of Messrs. Heath by William Smith, also a cottage formerly in the occupation of Richard Smith and then of George Chamberlain, which cottage was purchased by William Smith of John Ann Walton (see DR 38/714), also a cottage erected by William Smith on part of the garden to the last mentioned cottage, also the property described in DR 38/722, were conveyed by William Smith to Robert Needham Philips for £475.
