Description

Indenture between John Cook Canning of Sherborne gentleman, William Canning of Barford gentleman and Samuel Canning of Marroway farm, Snitterfield gentleman of one part and Robert Needham Philips of Welcombe, Old Stratford esquire M. P., reciting the Will and Codicil of Thomas Canning (see DR 38/837) who died on 16th March 1852 whereby the hereditaments described in DR 38/833 were devised to his nephews John Cook Canning, William Canning and Samuel Canning (sons of the Testator's late brother John Canning of Sherborne) and their heirs as tenants in common subject to the payment thereout of £1000 to his nephew Thomas Canning (son of the said John Canning deceased) and to his niece Mary Canning (daughter of the said John Canning deceased) £600, it was thereby witnessed that the said John Cook Canning, William Canning and Samuel Canning in consideration of £9,600 conveyed to Robert Needham Philips the property described in DR 38/835 together with that described in Schedules 1 2 of DR 38/817 and in DR 38/825, more particularly described herein with a Map and Schedule.
