Description

Copy Will of John Jakeman then of Eastcote Green, Barston labourer whereby he devised all his real estate to Joseph Turner of Hampton-in-Arden labourer and John Gardner of Eastcote Green aforesaid farm bailiff to the use of his wife Mary Ann (during widowhood) and after her death or re-marriage to his children Elizabeth and Thomas as tenants in common, and in case either should die under 21 years without issue, then he devised the share of him or her dying to the survivor, and he bequeathed all his personal estate to the said Joseph Turner and John Gardner upon trust to pay the proceeds to his wife for life with remainder in equal shares to his said two children and in case either should die under 21 years without issue then the share of him or her dying to the survivor. And the Testator gave a power of sale to his Trustees. Witnessed by Joseph Harding, solicitor, Solihull, T. Harding, clerk to Mr. Harding, Solihull. (Note Testator died 17th June 1855). Copy of the Parish Register of Barston for 1873 with the entry of the Burial of Mary Ann Jakeman on 24th July. Signed William Henry Hinder, Curate of Barston.
