Copy Will of Samuel Crompton formerly of Gainsborough but then of Clapham, Surrey esquire whereby he devised certain hereditaments Lincolnshire to his wife Hannah for her life and after her death to his eldest son Woodhouse Crompton, and his dwelling house and hereditaments in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire and other hereditaments in Lincolnshire, Staffordshire and Yorkshire to his cousin Thomas Evelyn and brother-in-law William Morgan upon trust for his wife Hannah for so Lang of her life as his said eldest son Woodhouse Crompton should be under 21 years of age, remainder to the use of the said Woodhouse Crompton upon attaining 21 years or upon the death of the Testator's wife, and he devised his hereditaments in Wolverton to Thomas Emelyn and William Morgan in trust for his wife Hannah so long as his son John William Crompton should be under 21 years of age, remainder to the use of the said John William Crompton upon attaining 21 years or upon the decease of the Testator's wife and the Testator devised hereditaments in Worcestershire to his said wife Hannah for her life with remainder to Testator's daughters Elizabeth Ann Crompton and Dorothea Crompton equally as tenants in common and the heirs of their bodies with cross remainders in default of issue with ultimate remainder to his wife Hannah and her heirs in default of any issue of his said daughters and the Testator bequeathed an Annuity of £50 to his mother-in-law Hannah Woodhouse for her life and after her decease to his wife Hannah Crompton, and to his daughters Elizabeth Ann Crompton and Dorothea Crompton he bequeathed £500 and £700 respectively, and he gave to his sister Elizabeth Bischoffe and his sisters-in-law Mary Woodhouse and Susannah Morgan £100 each, to the 3 children of Elizabeth Bischoffe £10 each and he gave to Thomas Emlyn and William Morgan £100 each and he directed that £3000 should be paid to the said Thomas Emlyn and William Morgan to be invested and the income thereof paid to the Testator's wife Hannah during her life and thereafter to be paid to such of his children and their descendants as should be living at the decease of his said wife in such shares as she should appoint and in default of appointment to his children and their descendants by representation, in equal shares and he bequeathed all the residue of his real and personal estate to his wife Hannah and her heirs for ever, and appointed her sole Executrix.
