Description

Attested Copy Indenture between Thomas Stanton of Wolverton gentleman (son and heir of Thomas Stanton gentleman deceased) of omne part and Henry Cookes of Wolverton gentleman of the other part witnesses that for barring all estates tail in the hereditaments hereafter mentioned and for settling the same to the use of Thomas Stanton in Fee Simple the said Thomas Stanton covenants with Henry Cookes to levy a Fine of the capital messuage at Wolverton in the occupation of the said Thomas Stanton with dovehouse, orchard and garden adjoining, also a close called Cherry Yard together with house and buildings thereon, also closes called the Grove, Sandfield (divided into 3 parts), Highway Close, Millfield (divided into 3 parts) and Kenmils, all which closes were in the occupation of Thomas Stanton and Elizabeth Stanton widow, mother of the said Thomas Stanton also another messuage theretofore in the occupation of Edward Soden and then of William Smith, also other closes called Ley Close, Little Grasfield, Combe Slade, Brookehills (divided into 3 parts) and two other meadows adjoining the last, all which last mentioned premises were therefore in the occupation of Edward Soden and then of William Smith to enure to the use of Thomas Stanton and his heirs for ever. Witnessed by Edward Willes, George Weale and Joshua Vere. Attested by Thomas Woolmer, Nathaniel Nason, Theobold Walford, clerk to William Hunt, and William Hicks.
