Description

Attested Copy Indenture between George Harris of Grafton Flyford, Worcestershire clerk of one part and Richard Mills of Southwark, Surrey fellmonger of the other part reciting DR 38/1021 and an Indenture dated 8th September 1714 made between Thomas Stanton and George Harris whereby Thomas Stanton demised a term of 500 years in 2 closes of pasture called Great and Middle Brook Hills, also a meadow called Little Brook Hill adjoining the last mentioned premises theretofore in the occupation of Edward Soden since of William Smith and then Thomas Stanton to George Harris subject to a proviso for redemption upon payment of £240, and reciting that in all there was owing to George Harris £560 principal (see DR 38/1021), it was witnessed that in consideration of £560 paid to the said George Harris by Richard Mills, he the said George Harris assigned to Richard Mills the two mortgage terms of 500 years each in premises described above and in premises described in DR 38/1021 respectively subject to the proviso for redemption upon payment by Thomas Stanton of £560. Witnessed by Thomas Aylworth, John ---- and Thomas Clark. Memorandum dated 14th December 1738 endorsed upon the shove whereby Richard Mills acknowledged that his name was made use of in the said Deed in trust for Thomas Stanton late of the Parish of St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, Surrey gentleman deceased and that monies therein mentioned were monies of Thomas Stanton. Witnessed by John Ellis and Richard Wright. Attested 15th April 1766 by Thomas Wright, clerk to William Hunt, and William Hicks.
