Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated 27th March 1682 between Thomas Stanton of Wolverton gentleman (son and heir of Thomas Stanton gentleman deceased), Elizabeth Stanton of Wolverton widow of the said Thomas Stanton deceased (and mother of the said Thomas Stanton party thereto), Edward Cookes of Hampton Lucy gentleman and Edward Willes of Newbold Comyn gentleman (which said Elizabeth Stanton, Edward Cookes and Edward Willes were the surviving Trustees appointed by the Will of Thomas Stanton the elder deceased) and John Stanton, Elizabeth Stanton the younger, Susanna Stanton, Mary Stanton, Sam Stanton and Alice Stanton (being the 6 younger children of the said Thomas Stanton the elder deceased and Elizabeth Stanton widow) of the one part and Thomas Wagstaffe of Bishop's Tachbrook esquire and William Challenor of the Parish of Old Stratford gentleman of the other part reciting that Thomas Stanton the elder deceased by his Will dated 19th September 1664 devised inter alia hereditaments hereinafter mentioned to his said Trustees and to John Wagstaffe esquire deceased upon trust to apply the income for the benefit of his 6 younger children as also for Edward Stanton then lately deceased one other of his children, the interest of which Edward Stanton survived to the other 6 said children of Thomas Stanton the elder and reciting that it had been agreed between Thomas Stanton the younger and his 6 younger children of the said Thomas Stanton the elder that the hereditaments should be settled, it was thereby witnessed that in performance of the said agreement and in consideration of £140 by Thomas Stanton the younger paid to the said Mary Stanton, and in consideration of £30 paid by Elizabeth Stanton the younger to the said Mary Stanton and the sum of £10 to the said Mary Stanton paid by Susanna Stanton and in consideration of £100 to the said Alice Stanton paid by John Stanton, and in consideration of £70 to the said Alice Stanton paid by Elizabeth Stanton the younger and in consideration of £10 paid by Sara Stanton to the said Alice Stanton to uses thereinafter mentioned, they the said Thomas Stanton the younger, Elizabeth Stanton the elder, Edward Cookes, Edward Willes, John, Elizabeth the younger, Susanna, Mary, Sarah and Alice Stanton conveyed the Manor of Wolverton the Advowson of the Church of Wolverton and several services and chief rents in Wolverton, Snitterfield, Warwick, Cottoned (Coten End), Sherborne and Milverton also several parcels or poles of meadow ground in all amounting to 114 poles lying in the Common Meadow of Wolverton then in the occupation of Elizabeth Stanton widow and also all that messuage with barns, stables, orchard etc. and one yard arable land, pasture and furze thereto belonging and therewith occupied and enjoyed late in the occupation of Thomas Townsend deceased and then of Joseph Townsend together with all commons and appurtenances to the said messuage belonging and another messuage and several closes of arable, meadow and woodland lying contiguously together in one of which last mentioned closes the said messuage stands, which said messuage and closes are called Blakon Farm theretofore in the occupation of Richard Reading and then of Elizabeth Stanton widow together with all appurtenances to the said last mentioned messuage belonging, also another messuage, garden, orchard, yard and home close with appurtenances in Wolverton theretofore in the occupation of William Launder and then of Mary Creed widow, also another messuage, garden, orchard, yard and home close in Wolverton with appurtenances then in the occupation of Thomas Welch otherwise Creed, all which premises were parcel of the estate of Thomas Stanton deceased at the time of his death. To Thomas Wagstaffe and William Challenor and their heirs, as to the said Manor, Advowson, chief rents etc. to the use of the said Thomas Stanton the younger and his heirs and as to and concerning the said 114 poles of meadow to the use of the said John Stanton and his heirs and as to and concerning the messuage etc. in the occupation of Joseph Townsend to the use of Elizabeth Stanton the younger and his heirs and as to the said Blakon Farm, one half or moiety to the use of Susanna Stanton and her heirs , and the other to the use of Sara Stanton and her heirs, and as to the messuage etc. in the occupation of Mary Creed to the use of Mary Stanton and her heirs and as to and concerning the messuage in the occupation of Thomas Creed to the use of Alice Stanton and her heirs. Signed Thomas Stanton, Eliza Stanton, Edward Cookes, Edward Willes, John Stanton, Elizabeth Stanton, Susanna Stanton, Mary Stanton, Sara Stanton and Alice Stanton. Seals mostly missing, the remaining red wax pressed between paper. Witnessed by William Eades, Joseph ----, Jane West, Thomas Aylworth and Edward Willes junior. Lease dated 26th March 1682 for one year of the same property between the same parties. Signed, sealed and witnessed as before.
