Description

Linear hand-coloured map of the route from Gloucester to Coventry, being 58 miles 2 furlongs, and passing through Stratford-upon-Avon: side roads, mileages, land use are noted. One of a series of a hundred maps covering the Midlands and Wales, engraved by Thomas Gardner, and published , as 'The Pocket-Guide for the English Traveller' in 1719. The map is 'Humbly Inscrib'd to the Rt Honourable Joseph Addison Esq.' Each map was dedicated to a different individual/subscriber
