Description

Gift with warranty from Alice daughter of Roger Berner of Tanewrth', widow of Alexander the clerk, to Robert the weaver (textori) and Geva his wife of a messuage with house, garden, orchard and croft called Bernerescroft in Tanewrthe; which messuage the said Alexander received with the grantor his wife in free marriage, and which garden and house Alice daughter of Mathew Dolfin holds of the grantor for life; to hold the same rendering annually to the chief lord 16 pence (2 terms). Should any of the grantor's heirs after her death claim the said property, the said Robert and Geva are to render them annually at Easter one pair of white gloves annually worth one halfpenny. For this gift the said Robert and Geva agree to provide the grantor with necessary provision for the rest of her life; and should her heirs not warrant the said property to the said Robert and Geva, then they are to pay them 20 shillings for every year and 10 shillings for every half year that they have looked after the said Alice.
