Description

Gift with warranty from William de Bello Campo earl of Warwick to Richard de Alressawe, for homage and service, of a cottage and five acres of land from the waste of Tonewrth'; which cottage lies between the park of Philip Durvassel and Alressawe; and 21/2 acres extend in length from the road leading from Benetford towards Witlakeasfeld, as far as the said cottage and lie in width between the said road and the land of Henry de Alressawe; and the remaining 21/2 acres lie in length from the said road as far as the road leading from Witlakesfeld as far as the road called Saltwey, and in width from the land of William de Cleburi as far as the land of John Wodard; to hold the same to the said Richard, his heirs and assigns, except a religious house, rendering annually 26 pence (2 terms) for all services save suit of court at Tonewrth' at Christmas and Whitsun and the payment of scutage at the rate of 1 penny per acre when it falls due.
