Description

Defeasance from Robert Fulwode gentleman to Richard Yelshawe of Tonworth: namely whereas the said Richard has granted to the said Robert an annual rent of 6s. 8d. by a grant dated 12 April 15 Henry VII (1500) to be taken from all his lands and tenements in Tonworth', the said parties agreed that if the said Richard paid to Richard Fulwode esquire and to the said Robert and his heirs after the death of the said Richard Fulwode, all rents, heriots and other services when they fell due, which were customarily paid to the said Richard Fulwode, before the making of this agreement, for his lands and tenements in Tonworth' which he held from the said Richard Fulwode, so that there was no loss to the said Richard Fulwode, or to the said Robert and his heirs after the death of the said Richard Fulwode, because of the purchase of one toft and two crofts in Tonworth which the said Robert held by gift and feoffment of the said Richard Yelshawe, that then the said grant of annual rent would be void.
