Description

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 11th December 1835 between Thomas Alexander of Snitterfield cordwainer and Mark Philips of the Park, Prestwich, Lancashire esquire whereby a messuage and garden together with cider mill, stable and shoemaker's shop in Snitterfield bounded on the North by land belonging to Robert Philips called The Bell Field, on the South by a lane, on the West by a cottage occupied by Elizabeth Alexander, mother of Thomas Alexander the property of Robert Philips and in the East by a pond of water etc. In the tenure of Thomas Alexander was conveyed to the said Mark Philips by the said Thomas Alexander for £180. Signed Thomas Alexander and Mark Philips. Sealed with a stamp seal and Mark Philips' armorial seal. Witnessed by Thomas Umbers, solicitor Stratford-upon-Avon and Thomas Matthews. Lease dated 10th December 1835 between the same parties of the same property for one year. Signed and sealed by Thomas Alexander. Witnessed as before.
