Description

Bargain and sale from Richard Fulwod' of Tonworth' county Warr' esquire to William Willyngton' esquire of all his chief rents and services, except fealty to be made to the said Richard of required, these chief rents coming from parcels of land purchased by the said William Willyngton' and Ralph Sheldon esquire from John Norrys knight pertaining to the manor of Codburrowe, 3s. annually from a tenement in the tenure of Thomas Cottryll, 8d. from a pasture called Weysworth, 1d. from Beggeres croft and 10d. from a parcel of land lying next to the tenement formerly belonging to Geoffrey Colles if the said Richard could prove that the said 10d. was due from his evidences; also a croft claimed by the said Richard in a pasture of the said William called Codborowe acres; to hold for ever together with the deeds relating to the same, a full assurance to be made before Christmas next; the said William to pay for the same at the rate of 10 years purchase, paying the said Richard £4. 6. 8d. at the sealing of these present and the rest when full assurance has been made; the said Richard allowing all arrears from parcels of land held by the said Richard from the said William as of his manor of Codborowe. 6s. 8d. from Barford lands, 2s. from Stapletons, 16s. from a tenement in the tenure of John Johnsons then in the hands of Edmund Fulwod'; the said Richard being bound by a bond of even date in the penal sum of £10 to perform the same [DR 37/1/1281].
