Description

Attested copy of a settlement previous to the marriage of John Boswell alias Maxfield the younger, son of John Boswell alias Maxfield the elder to Tanworth tanner to Isabel, daughter of Anne Hamond of Birmingham widow being a covenant that before 2 February next a conveyance should be made from the said John Boswell the elder and Alice his wife to Thomas Wells of Birmingham tanner and Henry Hunt of Tanworth husbandman a cottage, garden, orchard and 3 acres of meadow in Tanworth, extending in breadth from land late belonging to Sir Robert Throckmorton knight called Courtes Close on the east to the waste late belonging to the said Sir Robert called Sarehurst on the west, and in length between the road leading from Sarehurst towards Birmingham to the north and another waste of the said Sir Robert called Earleswood on the south; also a pasture called Woodfieldes and a meadow adjoining the same called Woodfield meadow in Tanworth, lying in breadth between the land of Thomas Ley called Cleyberry, the land called Bell land, the common and waste called Sarehurst and the land called Cleyberrye land on all sides and all other lands of the grantor in Tanworth; to hold to the use of the said John Boswell the younger and the said Isabel and their lawful heirs, in default to the lawful heirs of the said John Boswell the younger, in default to the said John Boswell the elder and his lawful heirs.
