Description

Indenture dated 15th May 1848 between Henry Smith of Snitterfield esquire of the 1st part, William Duffin of the same place labourer of the 2nd part and Henry Best Sowden of Stratford -upon-Avon gentleman of the 3rd part whereby a messuage at Snitterfield (formerly occupied as 2 cottages by William Wood and Thomas Tallis, and owned respectively by them) and garden etc. and for some years past in the occupation of Richard Heritage, afterwards of William Such and then of William Duffin (being property described in DR 38/691, DR 38/693, DR 38/695 DR 38/697) was conveyed by Henry Smith to William Duffin for £95. Signed Henry Smith, William Duffin and Henry Best Sowden. Common red wax stamp seal. Witnessed by Thomas Umbers solicitor, Stratford-upon-Avon and John Godfrey, his clerk.
