Bond between Samuel Allen of Bordesley in the Parish of Aston juxta Birmingham gentleman and Robert Philips of the Park, Prestwich, Lancashire esquire whereby Samuel Allen acknowledges himself to be bound to Robert Philips in the sum of £2000 [Reciting the Will of William Hunt of Stratford-upon-Avon dated 13th January 1767 whereby he devised all the hereditaments described in DR38/1052 to his brothers Charles Oakes, Thomas Hunt and Henry Hunt upon certain trusts for his younger children (see recital in DR38/1073) and reciting that the said William Hunt left seven children him surviving, namely Harriet (then Harriet Stubbs widow), the Reverend John Hunt clerk, Charles Henry Hunt deceased, William Hunt, Thomas Hunt, Samuel Oliver Hunt deceased and Catherine Marsh Hunt spinster, all having attained 21 years of age before the 29th September 1790, and reciting DR38/1073, DR38/1082, DR38/1091 - DR38/1102, and reciting that an objection had been taken by Robert Philips that the Trustees under the Will of William Hunt had no power to sell during the lifetime of the said Catherine Hunt but only to raise £1000], he the said Samuel Allen consented to enter into the Bond for £2000 against the claims of the said younger children of William Hunt.
