Copy Will of Jonathan Farren late of Loxley and then of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman whereby he devised certain annuities charged upon his hereditaments at Upper Ingon to his son William, and to Elizabeth wife of the said William and he devised other annuities to his grandson Samuel (son of the said William - Elizabeth) and to Jane Archer the Testator's daughter and to his son-in-law Tempest Hay charged upon his estate at Loxley, and he bequeathed to Samuel Barnett of Warwick gentleman a term of 99 years in his hereditaments at Upper Ingon and Loxley to be held in trust for the devisees of the same premises but to secure the payment of the said annuities and he devised to his wife Alice for her life the estates at Upper Ingon and Loxley also his newly brick built house and other leasehold premises in the Rother Market, Stratford-upon-Avon for her life with remainder as to the premises in the Rother Market, Stratford-upon-Avon to William Farren for his life with remainder to Samuel Farren for his life, remainder to Thomas Hay (son of the Testator's late daughter Isabella Farren) and his heirs for ever, and as to the farm at Upper Ingon he devised the same to his grandson Samuel Farren for his life (with remainder during the life of Samuel Farren to William Meades to preserve contingent remainders), remainder to the first and other sons of Samuel Farren succeeded in tail male, remainder to the heirs of the body of the second and other sons of the said William Farren successively in tail male, remainder in default of such issue to the Testator's grandson Thomas Hay aforesaid for his life, remainder to his first and other sons successively in tail male and as to the estate at Loxley after the death of the Testator's wife Alice, to Thomas Hay for life (with remainder during his life to William Meades to preserve contingent remainders), remainder to the first and other sons of Thomas Hay successively in tail male and in default of such issue, the Testator devised the estates at Loxley and Upper Ingon to the daughters of William Farren as tenants in common with ultimate remainder to the Testator's sister Jane Archer widow of Richard Archer late of Coventry basket maker, Thomas, Samuel and John Cooke all of Coventry and the children of Charles Ballard late of Anstey near Coventry and to Thomas Floyd of Swinford, Leicestershire and ------ Floyd of Daventry, Northamptonshire and their heirs. Witnessed by John Lyndon, John Joseph and by the mark of William Hemmings. Proved in the Peculier of Stratford-upon-Avon by Alice Farren sole Executrix before the Reverend Edward Kenwrick official and Principal. Signed Henry Martin Registrar.
