Description

Indenture of Assignment between John Bennett Lawes of Rothamstead, Harpenden, Hertfordshire esquire of the 1st part, the Reverend Thomas Warde of Leamington clerk of the 2nd part, Charles Thomas Warde late of Welcombe Lodge but then of Clopton House esquire of the 3rd part, Mark Philips of the Park, Prestwich, Lancashire and also of Snitterfield esquire of the 4th part, Thomas Umbers of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the 5th part and Henry Best Sowden of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the 6th part. Reciting DR 38/1190 and DR 38/1314, it was thereby witnessed that John Bennett Lawes in consideration of 10/- to him paid by Thomas Umbers assigned, at the request of Charles Thomas Warde and at the nomination of Mark Philips the several terms of 500 and 300 years in so much of the premises described in DR 38/1185 DR 38/1314 as were conveyed to Mark Philips by DR 38/1190, to Thomas Umbers upon trust to attend the inheritance and it was further witnessed that Thomas Warde in consideration of 10/- to him paid by Henry Best Sowden assigned, at the direction of Charles Thomas Warde and at the nomination of Mark Philips, the term of 1000 years in the same premises to Henry Best Sowden upon trust to attend the inheritance.
