Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated 25th March 1775 between Simon Cale of the Globe Tavern in Fleet Street, London yeoman, John Davis of Warwick yeoman and Elizabeth his wife (which said Simon Cale and Elizabeth Davis are brother and sister also devisees and executors named in the Will of John Cale late of Evesham, Worcestershire their late brother deceased who was the nephew, Devisee and Executor of Simon Cale theretofore of Leicester and late of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman who was the eldest son and heir of William Cale theretofore of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman also deceased), Thomas Cale of Stratford-upon-Avon aforesaid woolcomber (the eldest brother and heir at law of John Cale deceased), Maria Lucy Cale of Warwick spinster and Mary Cale of Little Eppleton, County Durham spinster (which said Maria Lucy and Mary are two other sisters of the said John Cale deceased) of the one part and John Lloyd of Snitterfield esquire of the other part whereby Simon Cale, John Davis, Thomas Cale, Maria Lucy Cale and Mary Cale in consideration of £1070 paid by John Lloyd, conveyed to the said John Lloyd a messuage, malthouse, barns, stables, gardens etc. in Greenhill Street, Stratford-upon-Avon formerly in the possession of William Cale late in the occupation of Joseph Hyde and then of Thomas Cale also three several allotments containing 72 acres, 1 rood and 20 perches (allotted exchanged and awarded to John Lloyd in lieu of one yard land of arable meadow and pasture with common etc. formerly belonging to Simon Cale deceased and situate in the Common Fields of Welcombe also all other the hereditaments of the said Simon Cale, John Davis and Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Cale, Maria Lucy Cale and Mary Cale in Welcombe etc. Covenant by the said Simon Cale, John Davis, and Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Cale, Maria Lucy Cale and Mary Cale to levy a fine to enure to the use of John Lloyd. Signed Simon Cale, John Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Thomas Cale, Maria Lucy Cale and Mary Cale. Sealed. Witnessed by Bowes Grey, Smith Burke, William Hunt and Joseph Harding. Lease dated 24th March 1775 for one year by Simon Cale, John Davis, Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Cale, Maria Lucy Cale and Mary Cale to John Lloyd of the same property.
