Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated 25th March 1791 between Samuel Wright of Shipston on Stour gentleman of the 1st part, William Greenall of Milcote in the Parish of Weston-on-Avon, Gloucestershire gentleman (only son, heir and residuary legatee named in the Will of William Greenall late of the same place deceased, also Administrator with Will annexed of the goods of his deceased father) of the 2nd part, Charles Pestell of Stratford-upon-Avon surgeon, John Whateley of Chadshunt and Edward Townsend Higgins late of Tiddington and then of Bridgetown (Alveston) gentleman Trustees of John Payton (see DR 38/1283) of the 3rd part, John Payton of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the 4th part and Charles Henry Hunt of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the 5th part. Reciting DR 38/1251 DR 38/1257 also DR 38/1248 DR 38/1259 also DR 38/1264, DR 38/1233, DR 38/1236 DR 38/1239 and that John Payton had become bound to Charles Henry Hunt for £1290 and reciting DR 38/1282 DR 38/1283 and that there was owing to Samuel Wright £4552-16-10, to William Greenall £2501-1-6 and to Charles Henry Hunt £2100-19-0, it was thereby witnessed that in consideration of £4552-16-10 to Samuel Wright paid by Charles Henry Hunt (by the direction of the persons of the 3rd 4th parts), he the said Samuel Wright released to Charles Henry Hunt the premises described in DR 38/1257 DR 38/1236 except 13 acres, 3 roods and 10 perches part of the premises described in DR 38/1236 consisting of Long Ground (5a-0r-39p), Brick Kiln Close and Shop Ground (7a-0r-29p), the Upper part of the garden (3r-14p), Langet (2r-8p) and in consideration of £2501-1-6 paid to William Greenall by Charles Henry Hunt (at the direction of the persons of the 3rd 4th parts), he the said William Greenall released unto Charles Henry Hunt the same premises and in consideration of the release of the Bond and debt of £2100-19-0 to the persons of 3rd part by Charles Henry Hunt, and in consideration of a further sum of £845-2-2 paid to them by Charles Henry Hunt upon trust for the creditors of John Payton, which four mentioned sums make together £10,000, the purchase price of the said premises, they the said Samuel Wright and William Greenall at the direction of the persons of the 3rd 4th parts conveyed to the said Charles Henry Hunt, the said premises. Signed Samuel Wright, William Greenall, Charles Pestell, John Whateley, Edward Townsend Higgins and John Payton. Seal, a stag's head erased. Witnessed by Samuel Oliver Hunt and Thomas Smith. Lease dated 24th March 1791 for one year by Samuel Wright, William Greenall, John Payton and his Trustees to Charles Henry Hunt of the same property. Signed, sealed and witnessed as before.
