Description

Attested Copy Indenture of Conveyance between Charles Thomas Warde late of Leamington Priors but then of Westover House, Calbourne in the Isle of Wight esquire of one part and Richard Marriott Freeman of Bartlett's Buildings, London gentleman of the other part. Reciting the Will of George Lloyd deceased (DR38/1306) and the death of George Lloyd on 11th July 1834 and reciting DR38/1307, DR38/1308 DR38/1309 and reciting that a marriage was intended between the said Charles Thomas Warde and Marianne Lawes of Rothamstead, Harpenden, Hertfordshire spinster and that the said Charles Thomas Warde had determined to settle the hereditaments in Welcombe, Old Stratford and Hampton Lucy devised to him by the said Will subject nevertheless to any sums directed to be raised by Mortgage upon the Welcombe Estate by the Court, it was thereby witnessed that Charles Thomas Warde granted to Richard Marriott Freeman all his real estate in Welcombe, Old Stratford, Hampton Lucy (except Clopton) and in Hulme, Lancashire subject nevertheless to the life estate of John Gameliel Lloyd upon trust to raise £14,000 as directed by the Court, for the purchase of Clopton and thereafter to convey to such persons as the said Charles Thomas Warde should thereafter appoint. Witnessed by Harriet Mellor, John Saxton Stratford both of Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Attested 26th September 1845 by R. W. Williams and Joseph Clowes, clerks to Messrs. Cunnliffes, Charlewood Bury solicitors Manchester.
