Description

Copy Will of Mary Smith of Stratford-upon-Avon widow whereby she devised to her grandson Samuel Smith two closes in Stratford-upon-Avon lying near to the messuage which she had purchased of Mr. Rawlins also the premises described in DR38/1322 subject nevertheless to the payment charged upon the said three closes of £200 to the Testator's grandson John Smith upon attaining 21 years and she devised to John Smith her interest in 6 messuages in Hell Lane [Henley Lane/Windsor Street], Stratford-upon-Avon and she bequeathed to her daughter Sarah Taylor £30, to her granddaughter Sarah Powell £200, to her grandson John Smith £200 to her granddaughter Mary Smith £200 and bequeathed certain other specific articles. And appointed her daughter Sarah Taylor, William Evetts of Stratford-upon-Avon baker and Manley Ashwin of Welcombe her Executrix and Executors. Witnessed by Jane Bradley, Dionysius Bradley and John Court. Codicil dated 19th September 1755. Witnessed by John Court and by the mark of Thomas Eden. Proved at Worcester by Sarah Taylor the 13th January 1756.
