Description

Indenture between William Baker of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman and Ann his wife of the 1st part, Thomas Taylor of Preston-on-Stour, Gloucestershire yeoman, William Plestoe of Preston-on-Stour aforesaid son and heir of William Plestoe late of Preston-on-Stour aforesaid yeoman deceased and Frances Plestoe of Preston-on-Stour aforesaid widow late wife of William Plestoe deceased, mother of the said William Plestoe the younger of the 2nd part and John Wilmore the elder of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman and John Wilmore the younger of Stratford-upon-Avon ironmonger of the 3rd part. Reciting that William Plestoe the son was a minor and that Frances Plestoe had custody of a legacy of £125 given to the said William Plestoe the younger by the Will of his father William Plestoe the elder, it was thereby witnessed that William Baker in consideration of £325 paid to him by Thomas Taylor and of £125 to him paid by Frances Plestoe in discharge of her trust to William Plestoe the younger and of 20/- to him paid by William Plestoe, together with his wife Anne, conveyed to Thomas Taylor and John Plestoe the younger with the consent of the said Frances Plestoe, a close called the Upper Part of Frame Meadow containing 10 acres theretofore divided into 2 closes together with a barn thereon also two closes with appurtenances called the Middle Part of Frame Close containing 10 acres lying in the parishes and fields of Stratford-upon-Avon and Ingon and in the tenure of William Baker as to one moiety to the use of Thomas Taylor and his heirs for ever and as to the other moiety to the use of William Plestoe the younger and the heirs of his body and in default of such issue to the heirs of Thomas Taylor for ever.
