Description

Indenture between the Honourable Robert Henry Clive of Oakley Park, Shropshire of the 1st part, the Right Honourable William Pitt, Earl Amherst of the 2nd part, the Right Honourable Mary, Countess Amherst, wife of the said Earl Amherst of the 3rd part, John Reid of Newland Valley, Gloucestershire gentleman of the 4th part and Mark Philips of The Park, Prestwich, Lancashire and also of Snitterfield esquire of the 5th part and reciting an Indenture dated 25th June 1839 being the Marriage Settlement of the said Earl and Countess whereby inter alia the reversion in the premises thereinafter mentioned were conveyed to Trustees (one of whom was the said Robert Henry Clive) with a power of sale of any part of the said premises, it was thereby witnessed that Robert Henry Clive at the request and direction of the said Earl and Countess of Amherst and in consideration of £150 to him paid by Mark Philips conveyed to John Reid the reversion in the premises mentioned in DR38/1385 (except the garden ground mentioned therein) in trust for Mark Philips.
