Description

Indenture of Assignment between John Bennett Lawes of Rothamstead, Harpenden, Hertfordshire esquire of the 1st part, the Reverend Thomas Warde of Leamington Priors clerk of the 2nd part, Charles Thomas Warde late of Welcombe Lodge but then of Clopton House esquire of the 3rd part, Mark Philips of The Park, Prestwich, Lancashire and also of Snitterfield esquire of the 4th part, Thomas Umbers of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the 5th part and Henry Best Sowden of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the 6th part. Reciting DR38/1353 and that by the Indenture dated 4th August 1840 endorsed on DR38/1315, a term of 1000 years in the premises described in DR38/1353 (which term was created by DR38/1240 in premises described in DR38/1319 DR38/1353) was vested in John Bennett Lawes in trust to attend the inheritance of Charles Thomas Warde and also another term of 1000 years in the same premises created by DR38/1299 DR38/1300 in trust to attend the inheritance of Charles Thomas Warde, it was thereby witnessed that John Bennett Lawes in consideration of 10/- to him paid by Thomas Umbers and at the direction of Charles Thomas Warde and Mark Philips assigned the first mentioned term of 1000 years to Thomas Umbers in trust to attend the inheritance of Mark Philips, and also that Thomas Warde in consideration of 10/- to him paid by Henry Best Sowden at the direction of Charles Thomas Warde and Mark Philips assigned the second mentioned term to Henry Best Sowden upon a like trust.
