Navigation of the Avon. Draft Indenture May 1870 between John Welchman Whately of Birmingham, Gentleman of the first part; the Reverend William Gresley of Boyne Hall, Maidenhead, of the second part; Francis Lionel Octavious Attye of Rockfield near Frome, of the third part; Samuel Smith of Birmingham, merchant, Arthur Ryland of the same, gentleman, James Moilliet of Skilts, Esqire, of the fourth part; and John Whitehead Greaves of Plas Vienydd co Menonerh, Esquire, of the fifth part; Abel Peyton of Edgbaston, Esquire of the sixth part; John Welchman Whately of the seventh part; Sophia Ellis Jervois of Leamington Priors of the eighth part; and Louisa Anne Ryland of Barford of the ninth part. Reciting the conveyance of 5-6 April 1831 between William Oldaker and Avice his wife of the first part; Charles Lucy, Benjamin Baylis, David Miles and William Buggins of the second part; Richard Gresley, Robert Middleton Atty, Timothy Smith and John Greaves (all deceased), Abel Peyton, J W Whateley, Revd. John Ellis (since deceased) of the third part; etc. R Gresley died 30 December 1850, bequeathing his share to his son William and his heirs. Timothy Smith died 19 July 1834, leaving his share in trust. H M Attye died 26 April 1862. Timothy Smith died 19 July 1834, John Greaves 27 August 1849, John Ellis 19 October 1854.
