Description

Gift from John Notehurst to Eleanor, wife of John Cokesey, of all lands and tenements which the said John Norehurst, Thomas Gower, Thomas Halle and Richard Wastell', now deceased, held by the gift and feoffment of William Pyrye in Toneworth' and Solyhull'; to hold to the said Eleanor and her lawful issue from the chief lords of the fee for dues and customary service, or default of such issue to Joan, wife of Richard Lee, sister of the said Eleanor, and her lawful issue, or in default of such issue to revert to the said John Notehurst and his heirs to be sold and the money or profits received to be distributed for the salvation of the soul of the said William Pyrye and all faithful souls deceased. Dated at Solyhull', Friday after the feast of the Epiphany of our Lord, 11 Henry VI. Witnesses: Thomas Grene, John Bothewater, Richard Middelmore, John Dolfyn, William Sherdemore and others. Circular seal of red wax on tag, 1/2 in., the letter B with a sprig of foliage. Latin, parchment, 10 x 5.5 ins., indented.
