Description

Grant from Thomas Mon', clerk, William Kempe of Couentre and John Pwer of Couentre girdeler to Christina, wife of William Benford' of Toneworth' of 4 marks annual rent to be taken for the term of the life of the said Christina after the death of the said William, her husband, if she survived him from all lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services which the grantors, together with John Benford' of Hambury [ Hanbury, Worcestershire] deceased, held by gift and feoffment of the said William Benford within the lordship of Toneworth in the county of Warr', in lieu of the dower of the said Christina, pertaining to such lands; the said rent to be taken at Michaelmas and Lady Day in equal portions, the said Christina to have the right of distraint upon the said lands if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears at any of the said terms. Dated at Toneworth', 7 September 24 Henry VI.
