Description

Lease with warranty from Humphrey Archer of Tanworth esquire to William Smyth of Hamm Ende in Wotton Wawen, husbandman, for £40 of a tenement with an orchard and garden, a leasowe and a meadow, in Hall Ende in the tenure of the said William; to hold from the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Mary next [2 February] for 21 years, rendering annually to the said Humphrey 20s. [2 terms], rendering annually to the said Humphrey 20s. [2 terms]; and at the decease of the said William to pay 6s. 8d. for heriot; the said Humphrey having the right of distraint if the said rent or heriot were unpaid or in arrears one month beyond any of the said terms; the said William to be responsible for repairs on the said land except for the great timber which the said Humphery shall find; the said William to keep the spring and hedgerow in the pasture called Hyde fydle; the said Humphrey to have right of entry and exit to the said pasture.
