Gift with warranty from John Grene of Henley in Arden', yeoman, to Roland Wheler of Henley in Arden' for £40 of 16 acres of arable land lying in the field of Whitley and Henley in Arden; of which 16 acres 11 selions lie in the field of Whitley in the furlong called the Perke pece between the land of Francis Smithe esquire, on the west and opposite the lane leading from Hafylhou to Henley on the east; and four other selions lie above Whitley hill between the land of the heirs of Roland Stok' on the east and abutting above Portweye on the south; and five other selions lie at Gospell Oke between the land of Francis Smithe on the south and the land of Daniel Baker on the north; and four other selions lie at the lower mill of which three lie between the land of Roland Stokes on the south and the land of George Wheatley on the north and the fourth lies between the land of Daniel Baker and the north and the land of George Whatley on the south; and six other selions lie in the field of Henley called the Backfild namely above Windmyll' hill' extending from above Smalbroke and lying in breadth between the land of Henry Franke on both sides; and two other selions lie in the same field extending from above Smalbroke and lying in length between the land of the heirs of Roland Stok' on the west and the land of John Harper on the east; and four other selions lie in the same field extending from the King's highway to Radington pond and lying in breadth between the land of Daniel Baker on the west and the land of the said Roland Wheler on the east; and eight other selions lie in the same between the land of the heirs of Roland Stok' on the east and the land of the said Roland Wheler on the west; and three other selions lie in the same extending to Smalbroke and lying in breadth between the land of John Harper and the west and the land of Fytter on the east; and two other selions lie above Fostowe extending in length to Rodhill' foote and lying in breadth between the land formerly of the Guild of Henley on the north and the land of the heirs of Roland Stok' on the south; all which property was formerly in the tenure of John Grene, father of the said John Grene, deceased, and which property the said John Grene deceased purchased from Anthony Reynolds, gentleman, 14 May 4 Edward VI [ ]; to hold for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service.
