Description

Lease from Joan late wife of Reginald Grey, lord of Rethyn, to Edward Brounflete of Farneburgh', esquire of lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services in Farneburgh', Avon Dorset, Wormleyghton', Napton', Kynton', Shukburgh', Molynton', and North'yend', Upton', county Warr', Clayton', Burton' and Wyllyamcote, county Oxon', Turkedon', Lassyndon' and Eggesworth', county Gloucestr' and Westhydem, county Herford', with lands in Devon', excepting wardships, marriages, escheats, reliefs and woods, but the said Edward to have sufficient timber for repairs when and as often as necessary; to hold during the lifetime of the said Joan, rendering annually £45, £20 at Lady Day and £25 at Michaelmas; the said Joan to have the right of distraint after 8 weeks for non-payment or arrears of the said rent; the said Edward to pay all dues to the King etc. during the said term, due from the said lands; the said lands to revert to the said Joan if the said Edward died during her lifetime.
